🧠 “Restarting From Zero: The Mental Storm of Day 8” πŸŒ€

After a brief pause in my meditation journey—about 4 days to be exact—I'm finally back. 🧘‍♂️ But I won’t sugarcoat it: the return was anything but graceful. 😡‍πŸ’«

The reason for this sudden break? Let’s just say it falls under the umbrella of family health issues—a topic too private to dive into but heavy enough to completely throw me off balance. Life, as always, had its own plans, and meditation had to take a back seat.

But today is Day 8 of my journey—and despite everything, I showed up. That matters. That’s a victory in itself. 🏁

The Weight of Restarting πŸ’

Returning after a break in any discipline is hard. But returning to meditation after a gap feels like restarting from ground zero.
Imagine having slowly built a house of cards with steady hands… only to have the wind knock it all over. Now, every card has to be placed again, and the hands? They tremble.

Today, I sat down to meditate, but within seconds my mind was ambushed by racing thoughts, fragmented focus, and an almost comical inability to stay with my breath. 😩
Every breath was interrupted. Every pause was filled with mental noise.
And yet—I stayed.

The Mental Game of Continuity πŸ•°️

When you lose continuity, your brain doesn’t just forget the habit—it starts questioning why you should do it at all:

  • “This will take forever.”

  • “You remember how uncomfortable it is, right?”

  • “You won't even get dopamine for this. Why bother?”

It’s the same feeling I’m having right now while writing this post. It’s as if my mind knows exactly how long and effortful this will be—and it resists. But I also know: when you’re consistent, the dialogue changes:

  • “I’m going to beat yesterday’s focus.”

  • “Today will be easier.”

  • “This is part of me now.”

That’s the beauty of routine. But building it? That takes immense patience and trust in the process. πŸ› ️

Channeling My Inner Gensai Kuroki πŸ₯‹

Midway through today’s session, I reached for inspiration. One of my personal ideals is Gensai Kuroki from the anime Kengan Ashura. I know, I know—it’s fiction. But inspiration doesn’t need to be real to be real to you.
So I imagined myself sitting in his composed, razor-sharp posture—strong, grounded, immovable. For a moment, I felt it. I felt him.
But soon enough, the flood of distractions returned. It didn’t last. But for that brief flicker, I tasted stillness again. πŸ•―️

Lessons from Day 8 🌱

  1. Discontinuity is costly—not just in progress, but in mental momentum.

  2. Returning is painful—but infinitely better than quitting.

  3. Inspiration is fuel—even if it comes from an anime warrior.

  4. Support matters—balanced diet, good sleep, and inner calm can’t be ignored.

  5. It’s okay to restart—every time you do, you return stronger.

Today reminded me of the idiom: “using an axe on your own foot.” That’s what skipping mindfulness can feel like—you dull your own edge. But even a blunt blade can be sharpened again. πŸ”ͺ✨

Wrapping Up 🧩

Meditation today felt like a mess. But I’m here. I’m writing this. I’m continuing. And that’s what this journey is really about.
Not about perfection—but about showing up, no matter how broken the rhythm, how scattered the thoughts, or how tired the mind.

See you tomorrow. One breath at a time. 🌬️🧘‍♂️
