No Motivation Today, But Still Writing

The Idea – A Small Step Forward

As far as today is concerned, I honestly don’t have much to write. I feel behind on content, disconnected from my routine, and unsure what to share. But somehow, I still show up. Writing has become a part of my daily habit now—it’s something I promised myself I’d stick with. Even when it’s difficult, I remind myself that this is good for me.

So instead of forcing something new, I want to share a thought that’s stuck with me for a long time—the idea of the 1% rule. You may have heard of it from Atomic Habits, or even from the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen. It’s simple but powerful: improve just 1% each day. Learn something new, take a small step forward, and over time, those tiny gains compound into something big.

I’ve tried applying this before, but I often failed because of inconsistency. Once I break the streak, it becomes harder and heavier to start again. And that’s when guilt creeps in. The truth is, the moment progress gets interrupted, the restart feels like a mountain. Many people give up here, thinking the method doesn’t work. But it does—if you stay consistent.

I read a blog recently that reignited my belief in the 1% rule. This time, I’m going to give it my full focus and try again—with real consistency. Not perfectly, but persistently.

That’s all for today. I’ll see you in the next blog.

Take care of yourself. Keep improving—one step at a time.
