How to Rest Properly — The Trick Nobody Talks About (Day 16)
Hello to the world π it’s day 16 of my meditation journey and honestly — i’m nailing it π§♂️
capturing stillness, able to sit longer, lessen the roaming thoughts — all these are getting achieved day by day, but as the day goes by the feelings getting changed. able to see surroundings in different ways — not like seeing energies of others or getting some powers or something — but the way of looking at things is shifting. π
like the movie Perfect Days π₯ exactly in that way — and when i watched the movie then one question arose in my mind — how he able to see things in this way and initially i didn’t get the answer… but now i know. i don’t wanna spoil the movie but not sharing it now π
from five days onwards i’ll tell you the answer.
until then, you should watch it — for other references, it’s a japanese movie π―π΅, slow-paced movie, so if you feel slow day or cozy feeling like watching some soothing movie that just goes by — watch it in your free time.
and yeah this is some recommendation from me — try it, you’ll feel different after watching it π€
and if i talk about today meditation review — i want something to change it.
when i saw my previous post i realized that previous ones were more like features — talking about headache, eye redness, numbness, like that stuff… but the thing is i need to shift it now — it’s more about how i feel after that, or what i feel mid meditation, or why i feel this way.
doing this not only changes the perspective — but you’ll indulge more into it and able to try it and maybe recommend to your loved ones — those suffering. because in this world, either we gonna help ourselves, or help others, or just help only our loved ones ❤️
and my vision isn’t to talk about what experiments or how my brain working — but it’s to make some stillness in life, and we’re lacking in it. see it in this way — whenever you feel good after looking at clouds ☁️ — the answer is how i’m gonna feel that thing. and this is beauty.
we as humans can feel that — even animals, look at dogs π or cats π or even lions π¦ — when they relax, they lie upside down facing the sky… just chilling… and when you feel that, think about it. it’s natural.
now coming up to my first main advice — obviously meditation — yeah it is π§ but not in that traditional sense, more like a relaxing way — of how we can relax or come back to focus.
sometimes people talk about pomodoro technique — 25 mins work + 5 mins rest — but here’s the thing:
people think rest means scrolling, watching, gaming ❌.
and here’s the flaw — that rest not only distracts from work but ruins the hope that “this will help my productivity” — and then we start feeling like “it’s not working”.
and if there’s some chance you don’t distract yourself but sit doing nothing — even that doesn’t feel energetic — it feels like a waste — because roaming thoughts are the same as scrolling shorts — only difference is shorts give you dopamine and thoughts give you stress. those who’ve done this — know it.
and now comes the best way to rest, which i discovered — this rest is for everyone — don’t consider yourself different. according to me this will surely take 5 minutes, but while doing it feels like 20 minutes — but give a shot to it and here we go π
π± take your phone and keep it in your next room or wherever but not close to you.
π¦ go and wash your face with splashing water five times — that’s what i do when i want to wake myself up.
πͺ come back to where you were sitting — and if i’m right, you’re either sitting in bed, sofa or chair — then sit there and make the perfect posture you can think of — like you’re guiding a robot into posture. for me — back straight, touch the back of chair, not crossing legs, just sitting straight like an interview.
then close your eyes π️π¨️ and do 100 reps of it — inhale & exhale in normal pace — that’s 1 rep. do this for 100 times — and check it out. this is what i’ve discovered so far, and honestly, it works great.
i know today’s blog a bit long — but thanks for maintaining this insist π
and that’s all for today.
peace out ✌️
