Even Stillness Needs Rest
🧘♂️ Meditation Journey – Day 26: When Meditation Feels Like Sleep
Hello and welcome back to my world — the space where I continue this quiet, evolving journey of meditation. 🧘♀️ It’s officially Day 26, and honestly, I can’t believe I’ve come this far.
Somewhere deep inside, I can finally say it — this routine has now become a habit. That 30-minute slot, which once felt like a long, dragging effort, now flows so naturally. Yesterday and today, I noticed it — there was no feeling of waiting for time to pass, no internal resistance. Just calm presence. ⏳✨
Now let’s talk about today’s meditation review. If you ask me whether I had some deep experience or a moment of realization today — then no, not really. Still nothing extraordinary happened during the session.
But something curious did happen — I can still vividly feel the sensation and presence of what I experienced two days ago. That moment of stillness… that space of clarity… it stayed with me, like a beautiful memory imprinted in my system. Isn’t that fascinating? How some moments stretch beyond time, while others simply pass?
So what's different now? What’s missing?
Well, I believe the answer lies in sleep. 😴
If you’ve been following along, you might remember that yesterday I talked about how sleep affects my ability to meditate effectively.
Today, I dug deeper. I realized something more important than just “sleep hours” — it’s about quality sleep. Last night, I did get around 7 hours of rest — a good number, right? But even then, I didn’t wake up feeling fully refreshed or present.
And that’s when it hit me:
It’s not just the amount of sleep you get — it’s the quality that truly matters.
Just like everything else in life, the universal truth applies here too: quality over quantity. 💯
Now you might ask — “Man, how is that such a big deal?”
Let me tell you. These days, my meditation sessions are beginning to feel like just another nap. I find myself drifting — not in awareness, but in drowsiness. 😵💫 That’s not what I’m here for. I’ve already had glimpses of what true meditation feels like — that powerful space where you're present, aware, and connected. Now that I know what’s possible, I can’t unsee it.
That’s the dilemma — once you've tasted clarity, you can’t settle for confusion.
So what’s the next move?
🔍 I need to upgrade my lifestyle, fix the inner disturbances, and optimize sleep quality, not just quantity. Because if I want to experience the full movie — not just a few trailer scenes — I have to stay conscious, not half-asleep.
And that’s something I’m committed to doing.
This journey keeps teaching me something important:
Things that seem simple — like sitting down to breathe or getting enough sleep — aren’t always that easy. And the real test isn’t whether it’s simple or complex, but whether you’re ready to face the discomfort when problems show up. Most people just quit when things get tough. I won’t. 💪
So from today onward, I’ll be exploring tips, tricks, and lifestyle shifts that might help improve my sleep quality. I already discovered one little trick — something that might work. I won’t spoil it just yet 😉. Let me test it tonight and I’ll share the results with you in tomorrow’s update.
Until then,
Stay curious. Stay awake (literally 😂).
Peace out. ✌️
